We have had some GREAT weather the last two days. Along with the warm Sun comes a lot of work too, and that's fine by me. I love to be out working in the yard and garden, getting ready for planting once again. I can hardly wait for the smell of freshly turned dirt and wild onions to fill the air. This weather gets me so excited I can hardly stand myself, I know others have a hard time standing me too..lol The chickens have celebrated the first of spring with a bounty of eggs, gathered 11 eggs from my 7 layers in the last two days. I'm so proud of them girls and glad to have them back in action. Eggs have been scarce through the long winter months. Still not recovered the greenhouse, it's on the short list now, but will be starting some tomato's inside in our little mini greenhouse tray tomorrow. Would love to do it today but we have all played ourselves out for the day. Should sleep good tonight, with thoughts of seeds, bulbs and plants filling my dreams. There seems to be nothing that feels more at home in my hand than the well worn handle of a hoe or shovel, we become one if only for a short while. It's like shaking hands with and old friend, it's hard not to smile.
The goats and the girls had a nice day in the goat lot playing. Here's a few picks of my animals..LOL

Chris, I could have written that first paragraph. I totally dig nice weather, best drug in the world. We had the same beautiful two days and the hens are producing big time!
I'll bet you're glad your chooks are laying again. Now you need to make some ice cream! Are you going to get some meat birds this spring? That buck of yours is one handsome fellow! I love his horns. He looks like he has a lot of character.
Your animals are all gorgeous!
(love the curls)
The weather has been beautiful here too and we finally got some rain! I was beginning to wonder when we would. Your children are beautiful, what pretty blonde, curly hair your daughter has! Wow, are those brown Boer/Pygmy cross goat kids you posted about not too long ago? They sure are growing!
Joanna, love this weather too. And yes it is like a drug for me, a good one too. Thanks
Amy, tickled to death to be getting eggs again, nothing like your egg count though. lol I have a hand crank ice cream maker that needs some use now that youmention it. Still not sure about the meat birds, leaning towards rabbits. Our Buck is a character for sure, he a big pet. Thanks my friend.
Lisa, thank you. She don't take the curls from her baldheaded daddy for sure.lol Thanks for coming over.
Jennifer, rain here tonight, storm. Those are the boer/pygmy cross kids, the ones laying on the ground where born on Dec. 31 the other brown one and the white one where born Jan. 28 th. They are growing like crazy, I din't notice how much until you mentioned it. Thanks for stopping by.
I have been really busy the last month or so and haven't had much time to spend on the blog, not much farm happenings anyway. Things are starting to pick up now and I will try to keep you all posted. Thank you all for taking time to visit and comment, I really appreicate it.
Chris
Hey Chris! I'm glad SOMEBODY had nice weather this weekend! Our yard is a massive swamp after all the rain we had! Is the older girl in the pics your daughter, also, or your wife? She looks so young, but I've never noticed pics of her before.
If you have a minute, go to youtube and type in 'How to know if your on the FEMA concentration camp list.' (spell exactly as is--it's a guy in a baseball cap looking at the screen.) I came to it yesterday and almost lost it completely! We noticed a sticker in our mailbox a few weeks ago but didn't know what it was there for. Have you guys noticed anything like this by you? No way to know for sure if his reasons are true, but no way to know if they're not! Pretty scary!
Had the same wonderful weather day here also and the girls are just beautiful;)
Gen, so sorry you have all that rain. Maybe this week will be better. The older girl is my step daughter, Savannah. She is 12 and I have had some pics of her before, guess you just missed them.
And yes, I have seen the video, scary stuff for sure. The only thing I have noticed is that the gov reads my blog everyday, it shows up on my site meter. Guess I should give them something better to look at. LOL
Mamma, thanks a bunch, we love them both very much, there good kids too.
Thank you both for your wonderful comments.
Chris
The gov't reads your blog?????? Okay, I knew they watched for certain words, but you can tell that they read it!!! Yikes!! It just brings me to tears to think of what's happened/happening to this country of ours. Is the 'world' as we know it about to disappear? It feels like the final scene of The Sound of Music, where they have to leave the land they loved that is no more. So very sad.I wonder if those that returned to WWII countries, felt that they were returning to the same places, or were the countries changed? Hmmmm. Just thinking out loud, I suppose. Thanks for doing what you do and keeping us informed and updated and encouraged. (in spite of the 'folks'reading what you write!)
I played in the dirt this past couple of great days myself. It was just good to be outside in the warm sun and nice breeze...........
great pics of the kids...and the kids!
Gen, is see them on my site meter everyday. I don't care. lol And I feel the same way you do about what's happening in this country, it's very sad that we have let this happen. Thank you and keep on prepping everyday.
Scout, it's great to be out playing again. Thanks buddy.
Warren, thanks my friend, we like 'em too.
Thank you all for your comments, good to hear from ya.
As always, love the great pictures--looks like a fun day on your farm. Kind of jealous of your weather, seeing as how with wind chill it was 0 degrees out yesterday...and pretty brutal with the wind blowing. Ah, March. :) Glad to hear your hens are doing so well---always nice to hear about hard work rewarded!
What beautiful girls, animals and writing. It matches spring, just right! (Write).
