I remember Grandma and all the relatives pitching in to help make apple butter. We still have her huge copper kettle that they used. I have her recipe for apple butter in her handwriting. In the margin she wrote that they started at 5 a.m. and quit at 6 p.m. It smelled so good and it was fun to have everyone together to make it.
BigBear, If you were closer I'd hook ya up man. It's great.
Amy, I would love to have a big copper kettle to make mine. I know some people back in WV that use one and make it outside over a fire. That would be a lot of fun. Liv has some recipe's in her grandmothers hand writing and we talked about projecting it on the kitchen wall and painting in on as a border on the wall. That would be pretty cool.
Just reading the title I knew it had to involve a canner! lol You are such a busy little fellow! How many jars have you done so far? Have a great weekend, Chris!
Just a guy that was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to Kentucky trying to raise a family on a small farm. We have goats, ducks, chickens, lots of dogs and raise a garden. Trying to live life simple and as peacful as possible. It's not as easy as it sounds.
