This Post is for Amy

My dear friend Amy has started a new blog that showcases her vintage items that she has collected over time. Her new blog lets us all see the wonderful pieces she has and gives us some information on them or asks questions when she's not sure. Amy has a great blog and I encourage you all to go and see the vintage stuff she has, Amy is what I like to call "Good People". She has a really nice green bowl that belonged to her aunt on there now. This got me to thinking about a green bowl that we have and I wanted to share it with Amy and all of you too.

Picked this one up at an estate sale a few years ago along with a box of other glassware. This one kinda struck my eye because it is such an unusual shape. No name or mark of any kind on it anywhere. I have never seen another one quite like it, it is a 3 sided bowl and came with utensils which is very unusual as well. The utensils are plastic which started to be popular during the 60's. To me it's just a real pretty green salad bowl. I am not a collector but I keep what I like and I like this one.

This is one of my favorites, I'm sure you all remember the Spruce Goose. This cup is made by Anchor Hocking.

Oh yes that is a salad bowl and I think either my mom or my grandma had one just like it. Nifty that you still have it and use it!

Your blog loads fine for me. I love when people's things or decorating comes from stuff they see and just LOVE instead of what's the latest style/fashion. You've got a cool green bowl there. I don't remember the place mentioned on the cup, though! I'll check out the blog, thanks! Gen--IL Homesteader

Hey Chris, don't make too many salads in that thing. The 3-sided bowl was used primarily as a pee potty prior to WWII. Oh I'm kidding yah. lol It's really neat.

your blog loads just fine for me.

I like kitchen vintage stuff too but I have a very small kitchen. For example, I like your salad bowl but because of its odd shape, would require its own space, wouldn't stack. Do you use it?

Riverwalker, hear ya loud and clear on that buddy.

Amy, thought you may like it.

Gen, thanks, mine loads fine too. You remember the Spruce Goose, the wooden airplane that Howard Hughs had built.

Cath, you're right, it's s glass bed pan. lol

Joanna, we use it around the Holidays, and it don't stack too good either. lol

I love odd shaped bowls too. I really like the salad bowl. I know Tiara made some green dishes in the 60's. Those are collector's items now.
You may be on Antique Roadshow as one of the folks who is amazed they have a $10,000 dish. lol..(you know the PBS show?)

Thanks for the visit and comment.
Have a great day.

Now it's really bugging me because I want to know what happened to the green bowl I remember! I'm fairly certain my mom had it, not my grandma. And I also remember the green serving utensils the more I look at your photo. Funny how I forgot about them at first! Boy you're really jogging the ol' memory here Chris!
